Overview

Delegates will be taught the fundamentals of pressure sore care with a focus on industry-standard prevention methods. They will also learn specifically about the factors which can lead to the development of pressure sores, how to identify infection, and ways in which it can be treated. A large part of the course also focuses on training methods so new instructors won’t struggle to answer any difficult questions from their trainees. Once the course has been completed, your company will benefit from having a Pressure Sore trainer and advisor on site.

  • The main structures and functions of the skin.
  • Pressure ulcers.
  • Common sites for pressure ulcers.
  • Managing pressure ulcers.

Train the Trainer Elements:

  • Teaching methods and learning styles.
  • How individuals learn and keep information.
  • Feeding back productively.
  • Evaluating.
  • Icebreakers.
  • Presenting information.
  • ‘Do’s and don’ts’.

Course Assessment

The Pressure Sore Train the Trainer course takes 1 day to complete. Delegates will be expected to engage in several involved group activities and, during the teaching part, will be evaluated on their knowledge and ability to train others.
