Overview
This Train the Trainer course provides delegates with the skills and knowledge required to train others in physical intervention. This is becoming increasingly important in care environments, with the CQC closely monitoring how organisations and staff handle challenging behaviour. Delegates will come away with an authoritative understanding of physical intervention and an ability to answer even the most difficult questions on the topic. They will also be taught a range of teaching methods and public speaking skills that will enhance their abilities as an instructor.

- The Assault Cycle.
- Legal requirements of physical intervention.

- The risks of physical intervention and the techniques learned.
Train the Trainer Elements:
- Teaching methods and learning styles.
- How individuals learn and keep information.
- Feeding back productively.
- Evaluating.
- Icebreakers.
- Presenting information.
- ‘Do’s and don’ts’.
Course Assessment
The Physical Intervention Train the Trainer takes 2 days to complete. Delegates will be expected to engage in several involved group activities and, during the teaching part, will be evaluated on their knowledge and ability to train others.
