Train the Trainer course

Overview

This course will provide delegates with an understanding of the causes, effects and impacts of fires, enabling them to act as a designated fire marshal. Delegates will also be informed of the different types of fire extinguishers, how they should be used, and what they should be used for. The course complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and, as well as extensive knowledge of fire safety, those attending this course will gain the skills and confidence required to deliver their own fire marshal training to other staff.

  • Introduction and explanation.
  • Legalisation and guidelines.
  • Categories of fire and their differences.
  • Identify potential fire hazards.
  • Impacts of fire on both people and property.
  • Prevention strategies.
  • Effective emergency fire procedures and when they should be implemented.
  • Fire extinguishers; types, when they should be used, and how

Train the Trainer Elements:

  • Teaching methods and learning styles.
  • How individuals learn and keep information.
  • Feeding back productively.
  • Evaluating.
  • Icebreakers.
  • Presenting information.
  • ‘Do’s and don’ts’.

Course Assessment

The fire marshal train the trainer course takes 2 days to complete and delegates will be expected to engage in several group activities. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help guide participants through these sessions.
